Fire Extinguisher Safety #07: Becoming A Fire Fighter

Becoming a fire fighter is not an easy job. Most fire fighter applicants are denied and some have applied a lot of times before getting hired. They undergo a lot written and physical exams to screen the right applicants. Physical training and interview are also done since it is a physically demanding work.  To further improve your chances then try to join as a volunteer in your local fire neighborhood to really know if the work is right for you. Try to develop your physical fitness since it is a strenuous job.

Once you’re ready check out your local fire departments for vacancy. Try to ask for an outline of the test so that you can better prepare for the written test. Study and try to practice the procedures and make sure you fully understand what you are getting into. Ask for advice from local firemen on how to improve yourself and pass the test.
